Volunteer Opportunities: Lincolnshire Heritage Forum

In the last year the Heritage Forum has offered advice and support to over 40 sites in Lincolnshire, organised the Lincolnshire Heritage Conference and Lincolnshire Heritage Awards and managed to increase membership by 30%.

The Lincolnshire Heritage Forum are now looking for local people with an interest in supporting heritage to join their busy committee.

The Forum are seeking to recruit volunteers for three active roles:

  • Treasurer – to provide finance and funding updates to the heritage committee
  • Secretary – to take minutes and provide support at heritage focussed meetings
  • Website volunteer – update the Forum’s website to promote member activities for Heritage Open Days

Roles and responsibilities

Treasurer

We’re looking for a new committee member to manage our bank account, keep a track of membership fees, incoming grants and process payments from the forum’s accounts. You’ll need to provide regular updates at our committee meetings, where you’ll be involved in discussion about funding for the sector, opportunities for marketing and promotion, and will help us to find ways to continue to provide support to the sites that need us most.

Secretary

As well as taking minutes and ensuring the wider committee is kept informed, you’ll be involved in discussion about funding for the sector, opportunities for marketing and promotion, and will help us to find ways to continue to provide support to the sites that need us most.

Website volunteer

Every year hundreds of sites across the country open their doors for Heritage Open Days on the weekend of 12-14 September.

With over 40 members holding event throughout the weekend, we need a web-savvy volunteer to update our WordPress site with details of events taking place throughout the weekend. All information is supplied- we just need to get it online! The task should take no more than six hours to complete, but opportunities for longer-term volunteering are available for anyone interested in remaining involved.

Deadline for applications

The Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed at our AGM on November 19 2014 and the Website Volunteer needs to be on the job by September 5 2014.
