Sector Support Organisations

The Sector Support Organisations (SSOs) are a new category within Arts Council’s National Portfolio and play a vital role in supporting the cultural sector.

Some organisations play a key role in their locality, working across a small geographical area; others provide a national function.

There are SSOs that focus on particular Arts Council goals, and others whose work cuts across all five. Together the SSOs will make a significant contribution to all five goals.

The SSOs who provide support for museums include:

Arts&Heritage

Association of Independent Museums

Audience Agency

Collections Trust

Culture24

Kids in Museums

Stagetext

Vocaleyes

The Mighty Creatives is the Bridge Organisation for the East Midlands who provide support for the cultural and education sectors to ensure the best opportunities for children and young people.

Find out more about the organisations that are working to support museums by browsing the full directory of SSOs here.
