Liz Weston at Mansfield Museum is looking into income generation through donations.
In these difficult times we all need to increase our income and it may be possible to share best practice to improve the collection of money from our visitors.
Last April Mansfield introduced a new, more obvious donations box to add to a small box and an automaton which have been in the Museum for many years. This has increased donations but it is felt that more could be done.
Liz would like to gather data from as many Museums, heritage sites or similar venues as possible and then will contact those perceived to being doing a great job to find out the secret.

and in return receive the findings email your 2013/14 visitors numbers and the amount you have raised in donations from visitors through the door to Liz at lweston@mansfield.gov.uk.
