Accreditation and Collections: Policies, Plans and Procedures Part 1
The Accreditation Scheme sets out nationally-agreed standards, and enables museums to assess their current performance, as well as supporting them to plan and develop their services. This session will explore the benefits of Accreditation, and the requirements for Section Two: Collections.
Sarah Brown, Collections Trust, will explore museum documentation procedures with a focus on accountability and the SPECTRUM standard primary procedures. We will also look at the requirement for Documentation Procedural Manuals.
If possible, we ask attendees to have available their the own Documentation Procedural Manuals for the session.
Please note this is part 1 of 2 sessions. You can attend this as a standalone session, but we advise you attend part 2 also. You can book part 2 here.
This training is part of our Museum Accreditation series of support, in line with the re-opening of the Museum Accreditation scheme in April 2021.
Who is this for?
This training is for those working towards Accreditation, or for anyone wanting a refresher on the Accreditation requirements. It is specifically aimed at East Midlands museums.
