Arts Council launches 3rd round of strategic support funding

October 7, 2013

The third round of the Strategic support fund opens on 3 October 2013, for activity that takes place between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2014.

In this round, ACE are anticipating ambitious projects that build on innovation, resilience and sustainability in the museums sector.

The Renaissance strategic support fund is the final programme strand of the current ACE Renaissance funding to be developed. It aims to address the priorities set out in Culture, knowledge and understanding: great museums and libraries for everyone and complements the Major partner museum and Museum development investment.

It focuses on any gaps (geographical or otherwise) or development opportunities across the sector recognising that excellence and the potential for excellence can be found in museums of all sizes.

£6.1 million is available in the third round for activity that takes place in 2014/15. This is in addition to the £6.4 million already committed for 2014-15 in rounds one and two of the fund. For 2014-15, we expect to see awards of £30,000 to £300,000.

Expressions of interest are expected by Thursday 31 October. Potential applicants are strongly advised to discuss potential bids with the Relationship Manager well in advance of submitting, please contact isabel.churcher@artscouncil.org.uk.
