Collections Photography Skills Workshop
Oakham LE15 6HW
This practical workshop is designed to build your confidence and skills in photographing the objects within your collections.
We will cover the following subject areas:
- Why we need to photograph objects and what we need to capture
- Technical knowledge – the key camera settings and other equipment including the use of smartphones
- Setting up a photography area and lighting an object for best results
The afternoon session will mainly be a practical session enabling you to try the settings and techniques with guidance. You will work in pairs for this part of the session.
The session is suitable for any type of digital camera and any level of experience. The small group will enable individual help when required.
The day will be run by freelance commercial photographer Sarah Homles who has worked with the heritage sector for over 8 years both delivering training and photoshoots for a wide range of organisations including Canterbury Cathedral, The Fry Art Gallery and St Albans Museums.
Please note: by signing up to an MDEM event you agree to meet our terms and conditions of training. These include letting us know if you can’t attend and paying a £25 cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you can find out more information here: http://bit.ly/2D53lKA
