Chesterfield Museum is housed in the Grade 2 listed Stephenson Memorial Hall in the town centre. Chesterfield Borough Council is working on a £15 million project to upgrade the building

This is a major and exciting project, and the Museum Service will need to move the onsite collection to a new temporary store while construction is taking place, this will begin in the summer of 2022.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Collections Assistant to help with the assessment, rationalisation and packing of the collection for the move. This post is currently funded to the end of March 2022, but we will know in November this year if we have been successful in our funding bid to extend this post for a further 18 months. A current Driving licence is required and usage of a car to travel between sites.
