Trustee Vacancies – Social History Curators Group

SHCG is looking to recruit 7 new trustees this year: Secretary, Treasurer and 5 Ordinary Trustees.  Ordinary trustees serve for two years and the Secretary and Treasurer serve three years. The roles which are available this year, and which will be assigned at the first meeting after the AGM are:

  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Editor of SHCG News
  • Editor of SHCG’s journal, Social History in Museums
  • Digital Editor
  • Marketing and Partnerships
  • Seminar Organiser

You do not have to be a curator to be a Trustee of SHCG. We welcome anyone working with social history in museums with solid organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail and bags of initiative and enthusiasm. For full role descriptions please visit our Committee page.  You will also need to attend 3 committee meetings per year (travel expenses are reimbursed) plus SHCG’s AGM.

Monday 26th April – Applications open

Friday 11th June, 5pm – Applications close

Wednesday 16th June – Online voting opens

Wednesday 23rd June, 5pm – Voting closes

Thursday 24th June, 4pm – New trustees announced during the online AGM
