As support to all museums Working Towards Accreditation, MDEM are delivering a series of support sessions, covering all aspects of the Museum Accreditation scheme, enabling you to understand what the museum is doing well, where you may have development areas and how to develop a plan to ensure you make a successful Museum Accreditation application.

The sessions will be delivered via Zoom and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, access resources and network with museums who are also working towards Museum Accreditation.

To book please email Sarah Hartshorne Sarah.Hartshorne@leics.gov.uk

If you or colleagues wish to attend any of the sessions, please book your places as soon as possible by emailing Sarah Hartshorne, MDEM programme officer, Sarah.Hartshorne@leics.gov.uk  with details of the session(s) you wish to book and the name of your museum.  We will provide joining information nearer the time.

You may also want to view the Accreditation Guidance in advance of the sessions – which is available here.

As additional support to museums, the UK Museum Development Network has provided a series of Museum Accreditation webinars, which are available on the MDEM website which cover:

  • Museum Accreditation Webinar: Getting started (and the technical bits)
  • Museum Accreditation Webinar: Organisational Health
  • Museum Accreditation Webinar: Managing Collections
  • Museum Accreditation Webinar: Users and their experiences

We will use the content of these webinars as a starting point for discussions in the sessions, so please take a look.
