Woodworm or furniture beetle is the most common pest of wooden objects and many thousands of pounds can be spent on treating woodworm infestations. All too often though, the damage is old, the infestation is long dead and thus treatments are carried out unnecessarily.
This session will look at the life cycle of woodworm and the environmental conditions they need to breed successfully. It will offer suggestions on how to identify an active infestation and how to identify the insect, including identification of other wood borers.
Suitable for: All those with wooden items in their collections, especially those items with holes.
