Conservation and Capital Projects Workshop

Led by Paul Croft, Senior Research Associate, Lincoln Conservation at the University of Lincoln

A presentation promoting the need for good conservation practice on sites where building work may compromise the integrity of the building fabric or the collections contained within.

Attendees will be introduced to:

  • The concept of listed buildings and their significance
  • The national and international standards that govern the principles of conservation on historic sites
  • Examples of historic material including the discovery of the 16th century wall paintings at Calverley.
  • Health & safety risks associated with historic materials
  • The impact of bad practice and how to mitigate and protect
  • Monitoring and recording

All participants will receive an email containing a Zoom link to the training prior to the event. The email will be sent to the email address used for booking. If you have not received an email the day before the event please contact us.

Who should attend?
This session is aimed at staff, trustees and volunteers in the East Midlands . Priority booking will be given to Accredited museums from non-NPO organisations.
