Are you shocked by how much conservation supplies cost? Have you been put off from starting a preservation project because of the eye watering expense? If your answer is yes, then this is the workshop for you. We will look at how caring for your collections shouldn’t cost a fortune and how you can adapt in the face of rising costs in all areas.
This workshop is jam packed with practical hints, tips and examples of how to save money or spend no money at all, and yet still provide the highest standards of care for your collections. This participatory workshop is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and resources to enable you to care for your collections on a shoestring.
The workshop will be run by Lorraine Finch an accredited conservator with over 25 years’ experience in conservation. She works with archives and specialises in the conservation and preservation of film, sound and photography. She has been employed in national museums and libraries, and for the last 16 years has run her own business, LF Conservation and Preservation. In all of her 25 years in conservation, Lorraine has never worked with much of a budget, and so has learnt many ways to care for collections on a shoestring.
