Silverfish are the most common pest of paper and, until recent years, they have been one of the easiest insects to control. In the last ten years, new silverfish species have been discovered in heritage institutions and these are proving less easy to manage.
This session will look at the life cycle of silverfish and will examine the damage that they can do. It will present an identification guide for the new silverfish species and will look at possible control options.
The session will be run by Jane Thompson-Webb, Conservation Team Leader at Birmingham Museums Trust
Suitable for: All those with paper items in their collections.
