Resilience Syndicate Interns Touring Exhibition Research Project

August 17, 2017

Culture Syndicates CIC, a community interest heritage and arts consultancy, were successful in securing £149,189 from the Arts Council England Resilience Fund in 2016, to operate the Resilience Syndicate project. This initiative created six paid internship positions within the organisation, working in collaboration with six partnered museums across the East Midlands, to undertake projects relating to audience evaluation and engagement.

The Resilience Syndicate Interns are currently conducting research on different models of touring exhibitions and have developed a short survey to assist with the research and data collection. The findings from the survey will provide an insight into how and why companies develop touring exhibitions, and how these exhibitions are utilised by different organisations, not limited to just museums and cultural sites. They will actively use this data until the end of their internship, in November 2017, and any information provided will be securely stored by Culture Syndicates and may be utilised for future reference after the project is complete.

The interns would like to know:

  • What is the current market for touring exhibitions around the UK
  • The reasons why people hire them

If you would like to get involved they have two surveys:

  1. Survey for museums and organisations that hire touring exhibitions
  2. Survey for organisations that make and provide touring exhibitions

If you fit into either or both of these categories, they would be extremely grateful if you could complete the relevant survey. It shouldn’t take much more than 5-10 minutes and the information will be used to help them understand the current needs of the heritage sector relating to touring exhibitions. Deadline 25th August.

If you have any questions about the project or the surveys please contact us on rsinterns@culturesyndicates.co.uk

Many thanks in advance and we look forward to reading your responses!
