Digital Strategies
Digital Strategies, a new programme for 2015-18, will give you the opportunity to learn about the potential of new digital technologies (including social media), assess where you are now and where you want to be and develop a sustainable strategy to help you achieve your goals.
What does the programme cover?
- Build new audiences and increase public engagement and communication
- Digitise your collections, publish and manage your digital material
- Interpret your collections in new ways
- Develop your education and learning provision
- Make your exhibitions more interactive
- Generate income and new funding streams
- Build your confidence and enhance your skills.
Are you eligible for support?
Enquiries are encouraged from all types and sizes of museums that are Accredited or working towards Accreditation. If you are unsure of your eligibility contact Fiona Marshall Digital Strategies Programme Facilitator.
Are there any associated grant funds?
Participants can apply for Small Grants or Business Development Grants where appropriate to facilitate digital work.
Other information
Please be aware that you will need to nominate a contact person for the duration of this funded development support. The programme may involve some regional travel to events and training etc.

How will the programme work?
The programme facilitator will work with museums throughout 2015-18 providing individual support and group workshops to build your knowledge and help you to develop an effective plan.
We might look at all areas of your operation, including audience development and collections development, and examine the potential for digital to promote new types of public engagement.
