Dealing with Mould

Dealing with Mould will provide you with the skills and knowledge to deal with a mould outbreak, and enable you to deal with mould damaged items.

This one-day practical workshop will provide you with the knowledge of what causes mould, how to prevent future outbreaks and how identify mould damaged items. It will look at the health hazards associated with mould and the steps you should take to reduce this risk. It will give you hands-on experience of how to deal with a mould outbreak and how to clean mould infected items.

The focus is on giving you the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to treat mould damaged collections.

Lorraine Finch from LF Conservation Preservation is an accredited conservator with over 25 years’ experience in conservation. She works with archives and specialises in the conservation and preservation of film, sound and photography. She has been employed in national museums and libraries, and for the last 15 years has run her own business, LF Conservation and Preservation. During this time, she has seen most things that go can wrong with archives and museum objects and has been involved in putting them right. Mould figures large in this list. Lorraine has dealt with many mould outbreaks both large and small. Mould is a very common in museums and archives.
