As part of Museum Development UK’s support for museums regarding Museum Accreditation, a series of four support films have been created.

This film is hosted by Jennie Pitceathly, and is a about how Museum Accreditation relates to users. It is aimed at anyone reviewing their audience practices, submitting an application to the scheme or seeking a refresher.

Objectives of the film are:

Review users sections of the 2018 standard
Understand what Arts Council are looking for in relation to the standard.
To spend some time reviewing key areas
Enable you to identify areas which need addressing

What’s it like being an Accreditation Mentor?

Join Heather Lomas, Accreditation Advisor for MDEM, and Angela Tarnowski, Accreditation Mentor for the Loughborough Carillon War Memorial and Tower as they discuss what it’s like being a Mentor, including a discussion on benefits, time and commitment needed and how you can make a positive difference in this role.

This short in conversation piece is aimed at individuals considering applying to become an Accreditation Mentor and would like to know what to expect. If you would like to know more or have an initial discussion about becoming an Accreditation Mentor in the East Midlands, please contact Heather Lomas.

Introduction to Museum Accreditation

Are you new to Museum Accreditation or considering whether or not the scheme is the right fit for your organisations? On this page you’ll find a range of resources aimed at explaining the scheme to new and potential applicants.

In this introductory video Accreditation Advisor for the East Midlands, Heather Lomas provides an overview of the Museum Accreditation Scheme in the UK. This video provides information on what the scheme entails, how museums can get involved and what support is out there.
