Invitation to Enter the 2019 Derbyshire Heritage Awards
The Derbyshire Museums & Heritage Forum invites your museum or heritage organisation to enter one or more categories of the 11th Derbyshire Heritage Awards in 2019. The awards will, once again, celebrate the wonderful work taking place in museums and heritage sites across the county.

Current members include local history groups, heritage attractions, museums, historic houses, heritage railways, historic industrial buildings & canals.

Please have a think about all the different projects, exhibitions, events and other work you have been doing and enter as many categories as possible! What has worked really well for your organisation and your visitors: open days; events; exhibitions; community work; talks and lectures; collections projects; work with schools or other projects with young people?
The closing date for submitting your entries is 5pm on Friday 8th March 2019.
We are fortunate to always have excellent judges and we are pleased to confirm that this year’s team will be Joy Hales (Editor of ‘Derbyshire Life’ magazine), Bill Bevan (freelance heritage interpretation consultant) and Sir Richard FitzHerbert (Chief Executive of Tissington Hall and Chair of the Regional Attractions Network). The judges will meet in April to consider your entries and the awards ceremony will be presented at Barrow Hill Roundhouse near Chesterfield on Friday 3rd May 2019 from 7pm. Award winners will receive a plaque and significant local and regional promotion. This is a great opportunity for all those involved in Derbyshire’s heritage to get together, catch up with friends and colleagues, share success and celebrate the work taking place across the county. We are grateful to Museum Development East Midlands for supporting the awards once again.
