This one-day workshop will begin with an overview of basic preventive conservation and the requirements of the Museum Accreditation scheme.
This will be followed by an introduction to object marking and labelling, including the most appropriate methods, materials and locations to use.
Delegates will then have an opportunity to practice marking and labelling a range of materials.
The training will be led by Anita Hollinshead, Regional Collections Adviser for MDEM, and will consist of a mixture of presentations, practical activities and informal discussions. All participants will receive a pack of additional information and handouts.
Who is this day for?
The course is suitable for staff and volunteers who are new to the area of collections care or who would just like to refresh their knowledge
