The Collections Trust invites applications for new Collections Management Traineeship Programme

The Collections Trust has announced a Call for Applicants for a new Collections Management Traineeship Programme, developed with the support of the Arts Council England.

The programme will support up to 20 museum trainees from museums in England in developing their Collections Management skills and competencies through a combination of CPD planning, peer support and workplace-based development. Traineeships are expected to take place between October 2014 and September 2015.

Speaking about the Traineeships Programme, Collections Trust CEO Nick Poole comments, “We are really excited to be able to announce this new programme for the Collections Trust, with the support of the Arts Council England. As the professional association for people working in Collections Management, we are committed to helping museum professionals develop their skills, contribute to best practice and build their careers. Traineeships are a great way of building confidence and experience in professional Collections Management.”

Isabel Wilson, Senior Manager Quality and Standards at Arts Council England, comments, “We are really pleased to be supporting this pilot. These free traineeships will offer really valuable opportunities for people working with museum collections to have the space, support and resources to develop their working practice.”
