Audience Champions 2019 (East Midlands)
* Deadline now extended to Wednesday 11th September *
Be part of a national pilot led by the Audience Agency (and supported by Museum Development East Midlands and Arts Council England) to support staff and volunteers at non-NPO museums to focus on using audience data to inform your museum’s development. We are looking for 6 ‘Audience Champions’ at museums of all sizes/ types to be supported to collect and analyse audience data over the coming year and to consider how this can inform an audience development plan.
Both the Audience Agency and Museum Development East Midlands (both funded by Arts Council England) share a responsibility to support cultural organisations to develop their relevance, reach and resilience. Museums will be supported to set up an Audience Finder account (a data collection and analysis tool developed by the Audience Agency) including setting up a data user account in September. During the programme, museums will gain a better understanding of who their audiences are, where they come from and using data sources and segmentation models to identify and understand potential audiences as part of a network of other cultural organisations. One to one support and mentoring is also available from the Audience Agency in between workshops, to support volunteers and staff who may need help setting up new systems of collecting data, using Audience Finder in the workplace or introducing new ways of working to colleagues. There will be the opportunity for group and national benchmarking.
Should you need more information contact Claire Browne claire.browne@leics.gov.uk before 9 September. Closing date for submissions of Expressions of Interest (see attached) is Wednesday 11 September. Museums will be notified of the outcome by Friday 13 September and will be contacted by Audience Agency before the end of the month if successful.
