About Us
Museum Development East Midlands (MDEM), formally known as the East Midlands Museum Development Network was set up as part of Renaissance East Midlands (led by Leicestershire County Council) in 2007.
Museum Development East Midlands has four key aims:
- MDEM support museums towards a sustainable future, by running a suite of targeted development programmes, grant funds, training opportunities, support for county forums, advice, information and one-to-one support to help deliver the Arts Council’s five goals and priorities
- Support will be delivered to Accredited museums and those actively working towards Accreditation. Find out more about the Accreditation scheme, how to apply, find out if you are eligible and access downloadable resources here.
- Museum Development East Midlands advocates to stake holders and associated organisations, the value and role of the rich diversity of museums and heritage sites.
- Leicestershire County Council will host the museum development programme and support the administration and governance of the regional Museum Development programme between August 2012 and March 2015, to meet the requirements of the Arts Council funding agreement dated 23 July 2012.
