How to Look After Your Listed Building
9 Market Pl
Brackley NN13 7AB
UK
This course is aimed at anybody who works in or looks after listed buildings as an organisation, company or local council. Perhaps you are taking over a museum from the county council? Maybe your offices are based in a Victorian Town Hall? As part of Brackley Town Hall’s restoration project, this course forms part of the activity plan, funded in part by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Following 2016 and 2017’s acclaimed events, we are running this course for a third year. Over two days, delegates will learn about what listing is, how it works and how it applies to you. You will learn about Conservation Management plans and Maintenance plans and how best to introduce these to your own councils or organisations as well as lots of practical advice from a whole team of experts.
The course is facilitated and run by Iain Soden, from IS Heritage, (http://isheritage.co.uk/) who has a vast array of experience and a career spanning archaeology, historic buildings and heritage sites. He will call upon many of his contacts to help deliver the course so delegates will really get the opportunity to ‘Ask the Expert’ when it comes to listed buildings, working in historic settings and what to look out for, avoid and encourage.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the two-day course.
