Sharpes Pottery Seeks New Trustees

July 19, 2017

Sharpe’s Pottery Museum is located in the centre of Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, in a multi-functional site with an iconic kiln hovel at the centre. The Museum and Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre are run by Sharpe’s Pottery Heritage and Arts Trust, which is a charitable organisation (Registered Charity No: 1077086). The museum opened in 2003. The Trust works closely with other partner organisations within the site including The Magic Attic and People Express.

The Board of Trustees intends to make appointments of new Trustees to join the Board over the coming months and invites applications. We are interested in broadening the basis of our capacity to maintain an active and supportive framework of governance for our charity and the work of the team. As a Trustee, you will be asked to attend a minimum of 6 half day Board meetings a year. In addition, there will be supplementary meetings and on-going projects which will require a regular time commitment equivalent to approximately one-two days each month.

We would be particularly interested in applicants who have experience in Fundraising, Collections or Heritage Management, Communications and Volunteer Development.

Information about the museum can be found on our website .

We would welcome you to discuss these roles informally so please do contact the Chair, Ron Lane by email info@sharpespotterymuseum.org.uk

To apply for consideration please send a letter of interest accompanied by your cv to info@sharpespotterymuseum.org.uk by 31st August 2017.
