Woodhall in World War I

July 7, 2014

The Cottage Museum has now installed a new display entitled “Woodhall in World War One”.

The display pays tribute to the thirty nine men listed on the War Memorials in the villages of Woodhall Spa, Roughton, Kirkby on Bain and Martin. There are interpretation boards, a memorial book and digital photographs for visitors to use.

The glass cabinets contain artefacts, documents and memorabilia which relate to both some of the fallen and others who survived the war. These give a fascinating and poignant insight into how the war affected the local community.

The exhibition opened on 1 July 2014 and will stay on display until October 2014.
