Volunteer with the British Horological Institute

August 10, 2016

If you have a keen interest in museums and have time to spare, would you consider volunteering at The British Horological Institute Museum? The Museum, based at Upton Hall, between Southwell and Newark, in Nottinghamshire, holds a fantastic collection of clocks, watches and other timepieces.  The museum is entering an exciting time of development and is looking to recruit new volunteers to become a valuable part of the workforce.

In particular, we are currently seeking volunteers to assist in the following areas:

Marketing & Social Media

  • Tour Guides
  • Education & Learning
  • Administration
  • Creative Activities
  • Photography
  • Collections
  • Research & Exhibitions
  • DIY
  • … and much more!

If you are interested in studying towards a career in heritage, the arts, or working in museums, a placement or volunteering role at the BHI Museum may also be something that you would like to consider. We can offer opportunities across a range of areas and will provide support so that you can develop the relevant skills and knowledge you need.

If you would like to become a volunteer or carry out a placement at The BHI Museum please get in touch to discuss the opportunities in more detail, and to ask for a copy of our short volunteering registration form, which we will use to help best match your skills and interests to the relevant and available opportunities.

Now’s your chance to meet new people, share your skills, learn new things and help your museum.
