Volunteer opportunities: An appeal from Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society

November 26, 2014

Paul and Joyce Jefford are relinquishing our Directorships of the Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society (LVVS) which is the governing body of the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum in Whisby Road, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 3QT

Paul and Joyce have no intention of quitting the museum and heritage scene either locally or nationally, but after fifteen years serving in management and administrative roles both feel it is time to scale back their contribution to the work of the LVVS.

About the volunteering opportunities

The tasks include maintenance of essential statistics such as visitor numbers and feedback, volunteer hours worked and so on. Also maintenance of the Society’s Plans, Policies and Procedures and helping the Board to ensure that national standards are maintained in the management of the Museum, caring for the exhibits and looking after the visitors.

What are Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society Looking for?

The LVVS appealing to recruit anyone out there who is willing, and able, to do any of their jobs as a volunteer.

The Board is not, of course, looking for any one person to take on the whole lot. You can do as much or as little as you choose. You will not be expected to be on the Board, but you would need to join the Society. The work could provide useful experience for anyone studying for, or aspiring to, a career in heritage. An interest in any aspects of road transport would add to the enjoyment of the tasks but is not essential.

Thinking about volunteer? Get in touch

If you can spare some time please get in touch with Paul and Joyce, as soon as possible, so that they can explain what is involved.
