Is it for you?
Eligibility: All museums applying for grant funds must complete the MDEM Business Diagnostic within 2 months of the application. This enables MDEM to understand where investment can support longer term strategic and organisational development. Only Accredited museums are eligible for support (and those that are listed with Arts Council as ‘Working Towards Accreditation’)
You must also submit your Forward Plan to MDEM ahead of any grant application, or wider engagement with the organisation.
Match Funding: Applicants must demonstrate a minimum 10% match funding towards the total project costs (this can be in volunteer-time where appropriate).
When is the deadline? Museums can apply at any time between April and December. Grants are assessed at the end of each month by the MDEM grant panel and outcomes of applications communicated to museums within the first two weeks of the following month.
