Share Academy Museum and Higher Education digital resource: request for feedback

Can you help the ACE funded Share Academy programme with its museum and Higher Education digital matching resource? If you can as a thank you we will send you a £40 John Lewis voucher.

Share Academy’s research identified that many museums they did not have the time or resources to highlight the potential of their collections, buildings, expertise, specialist knowledge, and academic research value to academics, students, and staff at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

To remedy this Share Academy have proposed that a web based resource be developed that provides an opportunity to highlight a museums themes, collections, knowledge, and workforce expertise. Therefore, Share Academy have used Accreditation data and Culture 24 to develop a database of over 2500 heritage organisation in the UK. We have also created records for all HEIs with the UK.

What we need to do now is find out whether that information meets the needs of museums and so are asking people for two to three hours of their time to provide feedback on the system. This will include looking at the following:

  1. Museum record fields
  2. Collections record fields
  3. Activity record fields
  4. Searching

At present our focus is on getting the museum, collection, and activity records developed enough so that they truly reflect a museum’s collection and potential to an academic audience.

As a thank you for your time, if you complete feedback via survey monkey to the project we will send you a £40 John Lewis voucher in April 2016. We would like to receive feedback by 22st March 2016 so that the developers can amend the system.

Places are limited so if your interested in the system and willing to provide feedback please contact Paddy McNulty, the Share Academy museums consultant, by email (paddy@paddymcnulty.co.uk )  as soon as possible.
