Moira Furnace Museum Trust seeking new Trustees

February 24, 2014

Moira Furnace Museum in North West Leicestershire, has increased its public profile in recent years and is now seeking to recruit new Trustees to help guide and develop the well loved local attraction.

The Scheduled Ancient Monument which is one of the best preserved Blast Furnaces in Europe is supported by North West Leicestershire District Council who provide a Grant each year to help keep the Furnace and grounds open to the public.

The Museum has achieved Accreditation status and help is needed to put together exhibitions to promote the history of the Furnace and the people who lived here, when iron making ceased.

The Museum’s events programme had been extremely successful in recent years and has attracted growing numbers of visitors.

A strong and robust governing body of Trustees is required to deliver the Visitor Experience expected by the public.
