Job vacancy: Museum and Gallery Attendants – Alfred East Art Gallery

Kettering Borough Council has two exciting part-time vacancies at the award winning Alfred East Art Gallery.

Post 1: 15 hours per week (Tuesday – Friday 9.45 am – 1.30 pm)
Post 2: 10 hours 45 minutes per week (Wednesday & Thursday 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm and Saturday 1.15 pm – 5.00 pm)

Salary: £12,435 pro rata

About the job

Both posts will be based at the Alfred East Art Gallery but the successful candidates will be expected to work at the Manor House Museum if required.

The job includes welcoming visitors to the gallery, assisting with exhibition installations, serving in the gallery shop, managing customer enquiries, assisting with events and responding to telephone and email enquiries. You will be required on occasion to work at height.

Who are they looking for?

You will need to demonstrate excellent customer care skills and experience of working in a team. You will be creative and passionate about engaging people in art.

Both post holders must also be willing to work occasional evenings. There may also be additional hours, on a casual basis, to cover holidays as well as exhibition set ups and additional events. Post holder 1 may also be required to work occasional Saturdays.
