Vacancy: Learning & Activity Manager, at Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens

Contract Type: Contract Type: 3 year fixed term full time contract (with a possibility of extension dependent on future funding)

Salary: Salary £24,000 per annum

Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens is in the ‘delivery phase’ of a Heritage Lottery Funded (HLF) project to restore an historic laundry and develop the visitor experience at Kelmarsh Hall. This major £1.7 million project will also convert the stables area into a dedicated learning space and restore the ‘below stairs’ areas of Kelmarsh Hall.  This will significantly enhance the visitor experience at Kelmarsh.

The Kelmarsh Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Learning & Activity Manager to manage, develop and deliver learning and public activity engagement projects for Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens.  The Learning & Activity Manager will work closely with the Visitor Services and Volunteer Coordinator who will support the role by coordinating and ensuring sufficient volunteer and staff cover and will manage group visits, visitor opening and provide details of existing programmed activity.

The Learning & Activity Manager will develop and deliver a new education and activity programme for the Kelmarsh Trust that works in conjunction with existing programmed activity.  The Learning & Activity Manager will ensure cohesion between departments and deliver activity that develops new audiences and is in line with the HLF project Activity Plan.  Previous experience of delivering a Heritage Lottery Funded project Activity Plan including methods of evaluation is important for this role as is creativity, an understanding of the National Curriculum and a flexible approach to work as some evening and weekend working will be necessary.
