The Galleries of Justice Museum is one of Nottingham’s award winning premier Museums and visitor attractions. We are seeking to appoint an energetic and experienced person for the new role of Curator.
The role will be responsible for supporting the management and development of the collections, including volunteer involvement in collections management and development, overseeing new ways for the public to engage with the collections, opening up access to these, taking responsibility for ensuring that the local community, across a wide spectrum of backgrounds and abilities, are involved and engaged in developing and caring for the collections. The post holder will manage a programme of contemporary collecting, as well as widening access to the HMP Service collection via a programme of digitisation.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, passionate and committed. As well as a proven track record in developing and delivering high quality collections development programmes, the post holder will have experience of developing effective relationships with excellent communication skills.
Based at the Galleries of Justice Museum in Nottingham this is an opportunity to work for a charity which combines two award winning attractions and a national education provider.
