East Midlands Trustee Workshop: What Trustees Need to Know
This seminar aims to help trustees both understand their duties and ensure that they are equipped with the appropriate knowledge to undertake them, including what questions they should be able to answer if they are to have a good overview of the museum’s performance and health.
This seminar will enable trustees to understand:
- What creates ‘good governance’, and how can you demonstrate this to the wider world?
- What information do you need to enable the museum to be financially resilient?
- What questions should trustees be able to answer if they are to have a good overview of the museum’s performance and health?
Delegates will also be able to find out about other opportunities from AIM to support and strengthen their performance.
Museum Development East Midlands will also be launching their Regional Trustees Network as part of this meeting. Allowing delegates a chance to shape the network going forward and understand how best to access support and future opportunities.
Who is this for:
This training is aimes at all museums trustees in the East Midlands. We’d particularly welcome trustees who may not have previously attended any MDEM training, and more than one trustee per an organisation.
Please note: This meeting is aimed predominently at accredited museums, those working towards accreditation and AIM members. Other delegates will be allocated a space on a first come basis. The session will include refreshments and will be subject to a cancellation fee if places are cancelled within 24 hours of the event.
